CHANDIGARH: Even though the World Cup 2011 has come to an end, it seems that the cricket fever amongst the youth has perhaps not ended. The World Cup victory has given a new boost to the youngsters who are seen visiting the sport outlets of the city to buy jerseys and accessories for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). While the fresh stock is expected to reach the stores soon, the youngsters are curiously waiting to buy them before the stock ends.

''Watching cricket in the stadium by sporting the team jersey enhances the excitement for the game. I also like collecting these for keepsake,'' says Chirag from Panchkula who boasts of a collection of jerseys from all IPL seasons. Another cricket fan, Swati, a resident of sector-22, who is desperately waiting for the IPL accessories to reach the stores says, ''Me and my friends have decided to dress alike so that we can collectively support our team Kings X1 Punjab. We are planning to watch the match at the stadium, hoping there is no shortage of tickets this time.'' While the Youngsters are seen eager to buy these accessories and apparels, they will have to wait till the time stock reaches the stores of the Tricity.
''Since the World Cup has ended, now youngsters are demanding IPL jerseys, caps and other apparel. We had some previous stock but even that is now sold out,'' says Virender, store manager at Reebok Sector-17. Mahesh, cashier at Puma, Sector-17 says,''We only keep Deccan Chargers apparels and bats with us. People have more craze for apparel so we'll increase our stock as and when the demand arises.''
